SEICO History

Innovation as tradition


1938
Foundation of SEICO Industrie-Elektrowärme GmbH, specializing in the development of rail vehicle heating systems, braking resistors and direction indicators. In addition, SEICO also produces heaters for industrial uses.


1939

Foundation of the Hermann Waste engineering bureau.


1945
The factory is completely destroyed in the war. Production continues in makeshift facilities.


1949
Relocation of production to Langenhagen near Hannover, Germany.


1958
Construction of a 4000 m² production compound in a new industrial area in Langenhagen.


1964
Construction of a completely new plant begins. The newly founded Waste Heizungen GmbH moves into the new facility as well, and Hans Hermann becomes managing director.


1972
Wolfgang and Klaus Hermann take over as managing directors.


2001
Andreas Hermann, following in the footsteps of his father and uncle, takes over as managing director.


2006
Waste Heizungen GmbH changes its name to SEICO Heizungen GmbH.


2007
Acquisition of the Swiss company BTA Thermo Engineering AG.

Winner of innovation award 2006 "WachstumsImpuls"

Exhibition at the HANNOVER MESSE Industry (16.- 20. April)


2008
Delivery of Heating-Cooling System for high temperature process with melted salt.

 

2009

Exhibition at the HANNOVER MESSE Industry (20.- 24. April)

 

2010

Sales agency in Taiwan: Porass Co., Ltd., Kaohsiung
SEICO’s MH-model range is ready for the market after 3 years field tests in Europe and the USA:

The MH-model range consists of standardized water- and thermo-oil-heating and cooling units for sophisticated demands on operational availability and serviceability

 

2011

Establishment of a s ales agency in China: BONSING, Beijing (China)

Exhibition at the fair WTT-Expo Karlsruhe (27. – 29. September)

Winner of EU Grant program “increase of structural efficiency of electric heater”

 

2012

SEICO’s electric resistors for vehicles passed automotive qualification process

 

2013

SEICO upgrades the MH-model range for steady operation with water up to 220°C and for thermo oil up to 350°C. All units are now available as rentals too.

The model range of water cooled electric resistors with 210 kW heating capacity used in hybrid- and pure electric vehicles passed field test program in the USA.

 

2014

Delivery of a Heating-Cooling System for high temperature process with melted salt.

SEICO’s water cooled electric resistors with 140 kW heating capacity conquer innovative mining vehicles

The SEICO design department implements 3D CAD

 

2015

Best turnover since 2000

SEICO’s trainee is the regional champion at the final examination set by the chamber of commerce and industry Lower Saxony.

Grand opening of new 400 m² area for staff facilities

 

2016

Design finish of the MH-model range. In addition to electric heating of the standardized water- and thermo-oil-heating and cooling units they now can be operated in combination with steam, hot water or oil from existing ring main.

Grand opening of new 100 m² area office space

SEICO passed successfully DIN EN ISO 9001:2015

 

2017

New sales force supports the SEICO sales team

Grand opening of new 130 m² area for electrical shop work

 

2018

SEICO celebrates 80 years company anniversary.


2019

The SEICO Group of companies became part of the EXHEAT Group.
Together the world-renowned developer and manufacturer of electric process heating and control systems, the group now operates with 300 employees at locations in England, Germany, Singapore, India and the USA.
